Case #3
Ovarian Cancer -
53-year-old patient
History
A 53-year-old patient who underwent surgery for ovarian cancer in 1990. In March 1999, she received chemotherapy for recurrence. In November 1999, elevated blood tumor markers suggested further recurrence of the disease.
CT Findings
The CT exam was negative for abdominopelvic metastatic disease and disease recurrence.
PET/CT Findings
The PET/CT scan clearly demonstrated a region of focal uptake consistent with serosal bowel recurrent disease. The region corresponds to an area of partially-opacified bowel seen on CT.
