Ovarian Cancer - 56-year-old female

History
A 56-year-old female complained of severe abdominal pain. Her physician suspected ovarian cancer and ordered a CA-125 blood test. These results were elevated and the patient was sent for a PET scan to confirm the diagnosis. Interestingly, the physician ordered the PET study before CT or MRI.

PET Findings
The PET study demonstrates extensive disease in the liver, abdomen, and pelvis. The PET study has essentially confirmed the diagnosis of metastatic ovarian cancer.
