Melanoma - 52-year-old female





History
A 52-year-old female with history of right inguinal melanoma. Status post resection of this area with chemotherapy. Patient presents with recurrence in the right groin.

CT Findings
Post surgical changes in the anteromedial aspect of the right thigh. No adenopathy or soft tissue mass identified. The findings could be related to radiation change. PET ordered for staging prior to resection.

PET Findings
Intense FDG uptake in the right inguinal region. Recurrent melanoma. Diffuse liver metastases. One splenic metastasis. Probable right sternal or parasternal metastasis.

Change in treatment plan
The surgery to resect the lymph node in the right inguinal region was canceled. High dose chemotherapy implemented.
