Lung Cancer - First PET scan revealed metastatic cancer

PET Findings
29 Mar 2001: PET imaging revealed metastatic cancer in the chest and neck. A CT guided biopsy of the chest lesion was started. Preliminary CT imaging was interpreted as a fluid filled mass, probably not malignant. The biopsy was aborted. The neck lesion was not investigated.

23 July 2001: Palpable masses appeared in the right groin and scalp in June. These were excited and found to be malignant. PET scan in July reveals marked progression of the malignancies identified in March, and numerous new sites of cancer.

Change in treatment plan
