Breast Cancer - 45-year-old female

History
A 45-year-old female with right breast cancer. She has undergone two previous right lumpectomies and right axillary node dissection. She is now being evaluated for metastatic disease prior to mastectomy.

CT Findings
CT of the abdomen and pelvis were reported as normal.

PET Findings
PET scan 11/23/99: Extremely widespread metastatic disease. The most extensive involvement is seen within the liver. A very large lesion is seen anteriorly and to the right of midline, probably confined within the left hepatic lobe. The lesion measures 6-7 cm. Approximately 15 additional, smaller lesions are identified scattered throughout the liver. PET scan 6/08/00: Post-chemotherapy, striking improvement with resolution of multiple lesions including metastasis in the liver, both hilar areas, bone, right axilla, and retroperitoneum. Only one liver lesion can be identified in the left lobe.
